We're seeking an experienced business writer to craft in-depth features about Melbourne's most interesting entrepreneurs and businesses. This role goes beyond traditional journalism—you'll be part storyteller, part business analyst, part community builder.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct in-depth interviews with business owners, extracting compelling stories and unique insights
  • Write 2-3 long-form business features weekly (2,000-3,000 words each) with depth and narrative craft
  • Research Melbourne businesses to identify compelling feature candidates
  • Collaborate with photographers to plan photoshoots that capture business essence
  • Edit and refine work from contributing writers
  • Contribute to editorial strategy and content planning
  • Attend AMC events to meet featured businesses and community members

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years professional writing experience, preferably in business journalism or content marketing
  • Portfolio demonstrating narrative storytelling ability with business subjects
  • Exceptional interviewing skills—ability to make subjects comfortable and extract authentic stories
  • Strong business acumen and genuine interest in entrepreneurship
  • Self-directed work style with excellent time management
  • Collaborative spirit and openness to editorial feedback
  • Understanding of Melbourne's business landscape (or quick learner)

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or small business

Compensation

$75,000-$95,000 + superannuation, based on experience. Flexible work arrangements (2-3 days in office, rest remote). Performance bonuses tied to content impact metrics.

Community Events Coordinator

Help us create Melbourne's best entrepreneurial networking events through our Visionary Exchange series. You'll coordinate logistics, manage attendee experience, and ensure every event strengthens our community connections.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate 2-3 Visionary Exchange events monthly from concept through execution
  • Source and negotiate with event venues across Melbourne
  • Manage event registrations, communications, and attendee experience
  • Coordinate with speakers, panelists, and workshop facilitators
  • Oversee event setup, run-of-show, and breakdown
  • Facilitate meaningful networking opportunities and introductions at events
  • Collect feedback and continuously improve event quality
  • Support AMC+ member engagement and community management

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years event coordination or hospitality management experience
  • Track record of executing successful events (50-150 person range ideal)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • People person who thrives on making connections
  • Comfortable working evenings (most events are 6-9pm)
  • Problem-solving mindset when inevitable issues arise
  • Passion for Melbourne's entrepreneurial ecosystem

Drive growth and sustainability for AMC by building partnerships with businesses, sponsors, and organizations aligned with our mission. This isn't sales—it's strategic relationship building focused on mutual value creation.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with businesses and organizations
  • Manage relationships with featured businesses post-publication
  • Develop sponsorship packages for Visionary Exchange events
  • Support AMC+ membership growth through outreach and relationship building
  • Create partnership proposals and presentations
  • Negotiate agreements that create genuine value for all parties
  • Track partnership performance and ROI
  • Attend networking events to represent AMC and build relationships

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years business development, partnerships, or B2B sales experience
  • Consultative approach focused on long-term relationships over quick transactions
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Understanding of media, content, and community platforms
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership mentality
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building processes from scratch
  • Genuine belief in AMC's mission and values

Nice to Have

  • Experience in media, events, or membership businesses
  • Existing Melbourne business network
  • Startup or scale-up company experience
  • Marketing or brand partnership background

Compensation

$70,000-$85,000 + superannuation + performance bonuses. Commission structure for partnership revenue. Flexible work arrangements.
